As a prelude to creating a climatology, summer data from the WOD dataset is segregated according to whether the data is from an El Niño, a La Niña or a normal year. On this page, temperature data from these sets are displayed at various depths. The color scale is fixed for each depth, but varies with depth. Also plotted are the GDEM august temperatures
